DeJoria Looks to Vegas to Continue with Top Three Ranking

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (March 26, 2014)— Currently tied in the No. 3 spot in points with Kalitta Motorsports teammate Del Worsham, Patrón XO Cafe Toyota Camry Funny Car driver Alexis DeJoria looks to this weekend’s 15th annual SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway to keep her securely positioned in the ‘Top Three.’

“We started off strong at the first two races of the season,” DeJoria said, referring to the 24-race 2014 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series. “Gainesville we had a bit of a hiccup, but we’re very early into the year. There are plenty of races left and we can come back strong for Vegas. This track has typically been good for us. At this race last year we went to the semis, and we’re hoping to go at least that far again on Sunday. Our goal this weekend is to be consistent, qualify well, and go rounds on raceday. We want to continue to put points between us and the rest of the teams so it’s important that we’re successful on Sunday in order to continue to be ranked highly.”

“As is typically the case when we race in Vegas, we’ll have the support of many of the Patrón executives at the track this weekend. Patrón is headquartered in Las Vegas so it’s great that the people that support us throughout the year are able to come out to the track and cheer us on. It’d be great to put this Patrón XO Cafe hot rod in the Winners Circle in front of our friends from Patrón.”

Before racing gets underway for the weekend, DeJoria will be participating in two autograph sessions on Thursday, March 27. The first taking place at the Liquor Library at McCarran International Airport (located in Baggage Claim) from 2-4:30 PM . Later that evening, she will join fellow NHRA drivers on the Brooklyn Bridge at New York New York for the NHRA Fanfest from 5-7 PM.
