Race Recap:
Alexis DeJoria returned to the seat of her Tequila Patrón Toyota Camry Funny Car at the New England Nationals. Right off of the trailer, DeJoria ran strong with two solid qualifying passes on Friday including earning a bonus point in the Friday evening session.
DeJoria ended qualifying in the 11th position with a first round opponent of Bob Tasca III. The Patrón Camry encountered problems early in the run. DeJoria expertly pedaled, but was unable to catch up with Tasca III, who was already too far down the race track.
Quotable:
Alexis DeJoria, Driver
Well race day didn’t go as expected, but we gave it a good try. I did my best out there; I pedaled and got it to recover. I was right there, waiting. If Tasca blipped or anything, I was going to get him, but unfortunately he didn’t and that was the end of our day.
I’m happy to be back here. We had some good consistent runs in qualifying. We’re going to keep working really hard and try to find that extra horsepower. Englishtown is up next and I’m really looking forward to it.
